It Happened in Sun Valley... Or A Studio Very Like

Commissioned for the "Urban Lifecycles" exhibition at The Sun Valley Center for the Arts, Hamilton researched and culled footage from films shot in or around Sun Valley, ID between the 1930's and the 1950's. Certain themes emerged in almost all the footage: elaborate travel, romantic desire, skiing and skating. These iconic images of Sun Valley, meant to advertise the lodge and bolster the railway, also encapsulate a certain time in the history of the valley and the development of the relationship between capitalist aims and entertainment industry.
