This image is a view through a peephole in the window of the hotel room I occupied during the Modern Art 2009 event. The model from the film Beautiful Terrible is used to create a site that elaborates on the strange history of the White Lake, much of which was not included in the video. The vinyl text connected to the peephole read:

74-year old Fyodor Dobryakov rushed back to the village and grabbed a friend. "I told him, 'The lake's collapsed, the water's gone.' My friend said, 'You're lying.' I said, 'Of course I'm a liar, but not this time.' "
